X-Men: The Animated Series- Season 1, Episode 13
Magneto brings Senator Kelly to a sunken ship to kill him, in hopes that a war between the mutants and humans will begin as a result. But when the Sentinels locate the senator, they abduct him and bring him to Master Mold who has begun to initiate a plan to replace all the minds of world leaders with computer chips. The X-Men race to save the Senator who eventually realizes that not all mutants are dangerous to the world.
Last week on COMIC BOOK WEDNESDAY in New Mutants #36 the New Mutants find themselves in a race against time to save the entire city of Chicago, and stop the demonically possessed Rock Band that heave been channeling chaos energy through their music. It turns out that the little box Cipher found was only one piece to the puzzle, more like a separated piece of a sentient ship that travels in outer space going through time and space. With all of their options running out, Blink and Magma push their powers to the limit, preventing the catastrophe just in the nick of time.
In X-men Legacy #261 over in the East Coast the X-men get a surprise visit from Exodus himself. Claiming to be the protector of the mutant race believing all mutants are to remain united on Utopia, confronts Wolverine and his X-men. Giving them one chance to return to Utopia, but we all know that this team of X-men are not going to let anybody tell them what to do, and much to their reluctance they battle Exodus. After showing Exodus the events of Schism by reading Rogue’s mind Exodus quickly apologizes to the Westchester School and turns his wrath on Cyclops and the X-men of Utopia, believing that Scott is the one putting Mutantkind in danger.
In Astonishing X-men #46 a shocking twist happens when the true identity of Saviour is revealed to be an alternate version of Professor Charlse Xavier. After this startling revelation, Saviour’s true motives, as extreme as they are, are brought into light. Along with alternate versions of Emma Frost (Emmaline), Kitty Pryde (Shadow), a young Nightcrawler and Wolverine (Howlett), Cyclops (Earth 616) takes the first move against Saviour declaring battle in their final confrontation.
Last week on Comic Book Wednesday proved to be a lot of fun with the X-men. It was all about the students, and their new care-free life, but unfortunately last week’s Comic Book Wednesday also served as a double edge knife: In Wolverine and the X-men #4 Kitty Pryde taught Future History 101, and as guest-lecturer Deathlok stop by to tell the students how their future would turn out. Much to Professor Pryde’s distaste Deathlok revealed the grim truth about the students of the Jean Grey School For Higher Learning. Genesis (kid Apocalpyse) joins the student body, and an amnesiac Angel discovers a new power, a miracle. And Kitty Pryde finds out about a rather unexpected pregnancy?

Meanwhile in X-men Legacy 260.1 Rogue and her team take some R&R with the students as they play a game of football (which by the way seems to be the JGSHL choice of sport). But that would prove to be short lived as a portal to another dimension is opened, and its up to Rogue and her team to save the day. Making it their mission to give the children the life they’ve been fighting for since they’ve been X-men.
A couple of months after the events of Spider Island, we catch up to Kaine in Texas as he prepares to skip town again. Ready for a new life and finally able to fit in like a normal person (as normal as having powers can get) Kaine seeks to live a life free of stress a worry, but all he needs is some cash to get him there. While in Texas a series of events happen forcing Kaine to choose between what he really wants in life, and what he has to do. Choosing to follow the “With great power, comes great responsibility” motto, he contemplates to fully take on the Scarlet Spider mantle or let some other superhero worry about the innocent public.
In Magneto: Not A Hero #3, Erik finds himself going up against Joseph and his team of cloned members of the original Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. However, Joseph underestimates Magneto as he decimates his opponents, and escapes with Astra. With Joseph still out there Magneto has the Stepford Cuckoos to read Astra’s mind to figure out the motives behind Joseph’s return.
COMIC BOOK APPRECIATION: WOMEN OF MARVEL!
This week on Comic Book Wednesday Rogue and her team of X-men are back on planet earth after rescuing the short lived team of Starjammers which included members: Havok, Polaris, Marvel Girl, and Korvus. Rogue isnt sure whether she should follow her heart or her brain; to go with Wolverine or stay with Cyclops; to be with Gambit or to be with Magneto. As Rougue contemplates where she wants to be she discovers a mysterious presence of another being floating around the returned adventurers from space. As she and the rest of the X-men get to the bottom of this elusive “x-gene” carrier they discover an old friend who was thought to be lost.

Meanwhile, Cyclops and his X-tinction team get themselves in a bit of a complicated situation with Mr. Sinister and his “Army of Sinisters”. As the team try to battle their way through, they learn of an approaching group of Celestials. According to Agent Brand of S.W.O.R.D. the Celetials are concerned with whats going on with the humans and the Dreaming Celestial in San Francisco. The Celestials have the power to wipe the earth clean and allow evolution to start again, but Mister Sinister has a better plans for evoulution. But what do the X-men have to do with all of this?
