Comic Corner: An Astonishing Occasion!

You may have already received your invitation to the special event coming in Astonishing X-Men #51, but marvel is pleased to officially announce a landmark X-Men wedding. Last week, we saw Jean-Paul Beaubier, better known as Northstar, propose to his boyfriend Kyle Jinadu, thus sparking the journey to the altar.

This is history in the making, and if you consider where the wedding is taking place it can also be seen as a political stand for equal rights in the gay community. Sometimes you just got to ask yourself, “Why did it take so long for all this to happen? Especially in a land of make believe,” but if you think about it: life ain’t easy for an X-Men, let alone a homosexual mutant. Nonetheless its here and what better way to celebrate such a historical event; and how convenient is it that this wedding is taking place right in the middle of Avengers Vs. X-Men? Maybe its a good thing that it is; we all get a break from the chaos that is AVX.
